Toquet Hall presents:

Sidewalk Dave – http://www.myspace.com/sidewalkdave
-Aggressive Folk-Rock pours like sweat from the four members of Sidewalk Dave. Since 2007, they have conjured up a deep instinct for rebellious brotherhood together in the North East. They have played with such similarly inspiring acts as Deer Tick, O’Death, Neva Dinova, Woods, De Nova Dahl, Danielson, Cotton Jones, Wye Oak, Mcarthy Trenching, and put out 2 full-length Albums.

- Led by SHS grad Dave Van Witt

The Woulda Coulda Shouldas – http://www.myspace.com/thewcsmusic
-The story of the Woulda Coulda Shoulda’s began in the summer of 2005, when the musical paths of long time friends Alex Swift (Bassist, Vocals), Topher Buckland (Vocals, Guitar) and Phil Osgood (Drums) finally collided, full force, in a small Connecticut basement. Although they departed for college after only one month of playing together, they knew then a musical bond had been born; a creative relationship that can only be described as unique and passionate. The distinctive song writing ability of Buckland, the hard rocking, disciplined drum style of Osgood, and the funky, driven bass skills of Swift have merged into a tight rock band that undeniably understands the power of music.

Max Stampa Brown
- SHS senior and lead singer of “Extra Parachutes”

A Place to Chill

Did you know that Toquet Hall is open during the week for students to hangout after school, study, play pool, foosball, video games etc?

When not drawing crowds of students to a variety of programs (like the spectacular Paperclip Plays Project this past weekend), Toquet Hall is a drop in center for teens.

Conveniently located in Downtown Westport, just steps from the Library and shopping,  the teen center is a great place to relax with a “home away from home” type setting.

In addition to various rec. activities, Toquet Hall has a small snack bar with water, soda, candy, chips and coffee/tea flavors that include: Nantucket Blend, Italian Roast, French Vanilla, Hazelnut, Dark Roast, Decaf., Chai Latte, Green Tea, Hot Chocolate (Dark and Milk) to name just a few.

So whether you’re looking for a quick study break, a place for your study group to meet or just want a hot beverage and a game of 9 ball. Swing by your neighborhood teen center at 62 Post Road East.

The Plays
Admission
Conceived and directed by Quinn Rooney
A devised theater piece about stressing out, growing up, and meeting unknowns at every turn, as you stumble your way towards the elusive college acceptance letter. Created from scratch by a four-person ensemble through an improvisational rehearsal process, Admission is all about making it up, and figuring it out as you go along.
Brand New Car/Tech Support
By Joseph Burgess
Directed by John Mozier-Tichy
Brand New Car is a dark comedy about making mistakes – and making someone else pay for them. Tech Support a riotous exploration of man and computer, just trying to log a little face time. Both are sharp-tongued clever comedies of modern-day mania, and distinctly 21st century living.
Clever Cuttlefish
By Alexandra Keegan
Directed by Kristín Otharsson
A lyric, whimsical journey through the delicate ground between childhood and adulthood, and an honest, evocative tale of family, love, and memory, Clever Cuttlefish delicately probes questions of home and growing up in a family of five daughters in this unconventionally flooring family drama.
Just. A Play.
By Scott Bartelson
Directed by Carly Maier
Philosophical and funny, Just. A Play. just wants to figure out what it all means in the age of the instant information and the iPhone. A quirky cast of characters make the rounds in an art gallery, and round out the big picture in this hilarious tale of image, information, and hidden self-doubt.
What Jane Would Like
Written & directed by Kate Doyle
Frenzied Jane just wants to prove she can pull off a grown-up dinner affair, but her antagonizing friends won’t leave her be. This comic tale of dinner with friends wonders what it means to be newly adult in the company of those with whom you were once children – especially in a world where the neat order of strict manners and formalities is rapidly giving way.
